Day 7 God's Covenant with Abram

Genesis 15:1-21

Are there any things in your life that seem impossible to overcome?

How might, or how has, faith made a difference?

I read tonight. I have pulled out a devotional commentary by Warren Weirsbe "With the Word" I really like it, small nuggets of insight chapeter by chapter. I like what he had to say so I thought I would share:
This is the first of many "fear nots" in the Bible. Fear and faith cannot live very long in the same heart. (that one stung a little)
Abram's fears were quieted by 3 revelations:
What God is (v.1)
What God says (v 2-7) and
What God does (v 8-21) In those days, to walk between divided parts of an animal was one way to seal an agreement. But God was the only one who passed between the pieces, Abram was asleep.
That's very neat and quite the comfort too!!

I've read these verses on Abraham. You know, it's kinda neat...my 18 month old son and I have been doing coloring pages on Abraham. So, it's kinda cool that MY study goes right along with it. I'm able to share a little more of the story!!

I love the verse that says
"Do not be afraid, Abram.
I am your shield, [a]
your very great reward."
What a great verse to remember in those hard times.

Here's the Plan

Our Challenge starts on Monday, April 7, 2008. If you want to join us in this challenge you will need to click on this link: http://www.ministryplanet.net/sites/e100/Individuals From there you will be able to find all of the resources you will need for free. Our goal is to read five stories a week. This gives us two days off to catch up or take a breath. Please blog as often as you would like. LeRay and Jennifer will post the questions from the discussion guide, but feel free to comment on anything you wish. We are so excited to see what God has in store for us, the "Bible Blogging Sisters!"
